Nepal and its Agro-ecological Richness
Nepal is an agricultural country where most of the Nepalese people are farmer, dependent upon subsistence farming. With its three ecological regions, Hilly, Terai and Himalayan region is extended to east to west of Himalayan, north to south and is vertically intersected by the river systems. It has diverse bio-climatic zones, varieties of birds, mammals, flowering and non-flowering plants, Yak farming and Yak tours, floristic regions namely - western, north-western, central and eastern.
Nepal, rich in medicinal and aromatic plants are abundantly found in the Teria,
mid hill and Himalayan region with its traditional and healing importance inside and outside of Nepal. Medicinal plants namely, Cordyceps Sinensis (Yarsagumba), and Rhododendron are important part of the Nepalese economy.
